The Giorgio Armani Prive S/S 2011 collection runway show kicked off the first day of Paris Haute Couture Fashion week today (January 24th).

At 75-years, Giorgio Armani is still able to captivate his audience and turn heads with jewel toned gowns encrusted with crystals and geometric cut diamonds. Giorgio Armani’s inspiration for his spring/summer 2011 couture collection is taken from a treasure-chest of jewels.

To top off these eye-catching silhouettes – barely revealing Asian inspired metallic sun-hats and crystallized face-nets finished each look, designed for Giorgio Armani by London-based milliner, Philip Treacy.

Sophia Loren, Pedro Almodovar, Jodie Foster, and Olivia Wilde were all front and center at Giorgio Armani Prive show while, V and VMAN Magazines Senior Editor and style.com's editor-at-large, Derek Blasberg tweeted "Armani couture has gone all Sci-Fi on me. Pierre Cardin-esque shapes, iridescent fabrics and flying saucers hats. Is that the Gaga effect?”
