Last night the Nokia Theatre was the place to be for the '37th People's Choice Awards, host by Queen Latifah (for a fifth consecutive year). The show featured some obvious choices and surprise winners in television, movies and music.
While the Oscars, Golden Globes, and SAG awards are selected by an exclusive panel of Hollywood’s elite - the People's Choice Awards are the only awards voted on by YOU. 175 million votes came in, setting a new record for the People's Choice Awards and the winners were revealed with pretty extensive product placement with the Zio smartphone.
In a Peoples Choice “Trifecta”, Rihanna took home the award for Favorite Pop Artist, and Eminem walked away with Favorite Male Artist, while their duet "Love the Way You Lie, won Favorite Song.
Other highlights were: Favorite TV Comedy – Glee, Favorite TV Comedy Actress – Jane Lynch ('Glee'), Favorite TV Guilty Pleasure – 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' and Favorite Movie Actress – Kristen Stewart.
